These are very decent folks - very thorough, knowledgeable and fair. They showed me what was wrong with my 2020 BMW, and even recommended against the high priced service I had thought I would need to do. Robert was exceptional. He explained everything, and has very professional and pleasant in my exchanges with him. I would recommend these guys very highly.
Audi BMW Mercedes Benz Porsche or Volkswagen. These guys are the option you’ll want to choose. Service know how, to the point customer interaction (expect direct answers, no sales here). I’ve been coming here for years and I trust the job gets done right the 1st time. Expensive - yup - you’re not dealing with amateur people playing games.

I’ve been a long time customer and have referred friends and family to the shop whenever a car question /issue comes up. Professional partners and a clear process of what’s needed vs what you can expect in the future and roughly when to expect other situations to come up. There is no hard sells and an easy conversation with the managers. I appreciate that they will measure your understanding about cars and speak to you at levels that one can understand. I’ll be with them for life if the management and the mechanic stay in place.

Our family have been customers of Helmut and Vito's since the 80's and they've always delivered excellent service. Most recently I encountered a broken coolant line during the New Year's holiday and had the car towed to Helmut and Vito's. Although they had no advanced warning, they diagnosed the situation on Monday morning and had the issue resolved and the car back on the road within days. If you have a german car that needs expert attention I can't recommend them strongly enough.
If you are looking for an honest, fair auto shop this is the one! These guys go the extra mile to take care of their customers. Even as an AFAB I comfortable there and I know they aren’t trying to pull a fast one on me. The walk you through every expense if you have questions, print detailed breakdowns, and help you with planning for expenses for the next repair by giving you exact cost as long as something new doesn’t pop up. Cannot express enough what a great experience it is at this shop.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Great people and have worked with them for 20+ years! Always find ways to squeeze you in and the best part they are HONEST!!! There is no beating around the bush with these guys. They are great people to work with and do business with. Prices are good too. If you are looking for a place that will treat you like family this it the place!
I have had all the family cars serviced by H&V for at least ten years. They have always been honest,fairly priced and provide excellent service, both customer and mechanical. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Absolutely awful services I would never bring my vehicle here for service. They rip people off, take advantage of unknowing customers, they laugh in your face when you only seek help, they also are incredibly rude. I had to beg them to tell me what was wrong with my car. I would stray far away from this business as I’ve read multiple reviews of them doing things like this. Forced me to pay for 5 minutes of their time with zero results on my end. An absolute waste of my time and money.

This is one of the hardest working mechanics I have ever dealt with. They identified an issue and the exact cause after thorough review and remedied it. They were fair and very customer service oriented. They came highly recommended to me and I will definitely recommend them and use them going forward. Great place and people.

I had a wonderful experience today when I took my 27 year old Jaguar in today for my first visit. Employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a VERY positive experience unlike other garages I’d been to in the past.
I just picked up my car after having a water pump removed and replaced. This was the 3rd time I've had work done at Helmut & Vito's. Excellent, efficient, knowledgeable service. Great price. Great staff. This is my "go to" place.

A big concern with moving to a completely new area is finding service providers you can trust. Thank goodness for Helmut and Vito's!! Couldn't be happier!!! Incredibly honest, transparent, and very very fair on prices. Amazingly friendly also! Brought our car in for something that was not clear on the root cause. They diagnosed quick and finished the job same day! We will be returning!

The quote for service was quick, via text to approve and was exactly the price I paid at pickup (no surprises). I will definitely go back for any future repairs needed. 5 stars!

I couldn’t be happier with the service I received at Helmut and Vito’s Auto Service. They kept my appointment; texted me immediately with the diagnosis; provided a detailed breakdown of the cost; told me when the work would be finished; and texted me when my SUV was ready to be picked up. Everything ran like clockwork and best of all, my vehicle is running great!

It turns out the issue was just the oil control valve, which they replaced for a little over $600. No more noise, no engine lights—problem solved.

I had been fed up with my previous mechanic shotty and over prices work. After doing some research, my wife suggested we try Helmut and Vit's based on their online ratings. We've taken both my 4Runner and my wife's Lexus RX 350 to them now, and couldn't be happier. They do excellent work and are upfront and honest about everything. On multiple occasions I thought work needed to be done, however, upon their diagnostic they informed me that this wasn't the problem, suggested the proper repair, and saved me money!
If you have a luxury car this is the place to take it. They are knowledgeable, stay on top of service needs, they are friendly, timely and not a rip off. I have a 2022 Porsche Macan. Dealer charges $500-$600 for an oil change, H&Js charged less than $200. They also walk through what’s “due” and make recommendations but not pushy, only honest. That’s hundreds in savings … and did I mention (enough) how friendly they are? It’s worth the drive for me and they have WiFi so it’s easy to sit and wait. I am glad I found them.

We needed some work done on our Volvo while we were on vacation, and the after-hours drop off process was very easy and secure. They took great care of our car and Robert, their service writer/manager, communicated with us whenever he had an update and was available whenever we had questions. Their pricing is very fair, too. It feels good to support an independent, locally-owned auto repair shop and we will definitely go to them again in the future!
All I can say is wow! Outstanding service! Robert was kind, calm and very thorough which made me feel safe (!) His demeanor was amazing. Things were explained so that I could understand them. I highly HIGHLY recommend this place. The price was fair as well.

Helmut and Vito's was an awesome place. Took my car that broke down they new exactly what to do to fix my car. They also didn't push to get other things done like most places do. Very impressed with them.
Took my e46 for a front window regulator replacement. First time customer. Was very pleased with the whole experience. Car was returned as clean as it was when I dropped it off. I will definitely return for more maintenance above my skills. They work on really nice cars, a testament of their quality work. And the hourly labor cost is very reasonable.

Very quick response time, estimates provided promptly in a digital format, competitive prices, scheduled service within the next few days. 1st time utilizing H&V’s for my auto needs. My Audi S5 SB needed new rear brakes and rotors. Every person I spoke to was extremely nice & helpful. They fit me in very quickly and completed repairs ahead of schedule. Lastly, the cost was more than half the price (cheaper) than dealer quote. I will be working with H&V’s moving forward.

I appreciate the excellent service from Helmut and Vito's. Most recently we had to tow my daughter's car to them, as we were unsure of the problem. Even with how busy their schedule was, they gave us an estimate the next day and as promised, fixed it within a few days, at a reasonable cost. Over the years that I have been bringing my Minis to them, I can always count on them to give me honest advice on my car repairs.

My car stopped working at a Southside intersection 30 miles away. As a regular customer, the guys allowed me to leave the car on the lot over the weekend. Despite a booked schedule, they were able to look at the car on Monday and have it fixed by Wednesday. Great service at a great price.
We have been taking our cars to Helmut & Vito's for years and have always received excellent service. They have never failed to fix any issue we bring to them and we have never had to return for the same problem twice. Their pricing has always been fair and if they cannot perform a certain service, they are upfront about it and refer us to someone who can. Recently, they helped us get a Mazda Miata running again after being garaged for over 15 years. They provided a detailed quote that itemized all the work that needed to be done and explained which work was mandatory and which was optional. Adam went through the entire quote with us to make sure we understood it. The car has been running great since they worked on it. We love being able to call on them for any car work and trust that they will do it correctly and at a reasonable price without any unnecessary upsells. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic.

We have 3 cars and we have been going to Helmut’s for well over a decade. In all that time we’ve never had a problem or complaint on a repair or maintenance work. They are reliable and affordable.
Overall great experience from A to Z. These guys know their stuff. They made multiple repairs on my 92 VW Corrado and provided me with great info along the way. Two of the guys there were master mechanics with VW and knew the intricacies of many specific systems. Tony & Adam made the entire process easy to understand and also went the extra mile ( maybe two) to get things done!

I recently had to get a light bulb replaced at Helmut & Vito's Auto Svc and I can't recommend them enough. Their service was fantastic - they replaced the broken bulb and only charged me for the cost of the bulb itself. I appreciated their honesty and integrity, and their customer service was top-notch. Took my Audi 6 series in for some concerns. MMI had issues and they took the time to go through it and research what may and or may not be the issue. They still took the time to figure things out and to make me aware of what the next step would be. Awesome staff and regardless of them not being able to do the software update due to the availability. I will still highly recommend anyone here and will in the future bring my vehicle to them. This is the best auto shop I have ever been to. The entire staff is so kind, honest, and reliable. I called them with an emergency and, even with their extremely busy schedule, they fit me right in. I am not car-savvy, so my "emergency" ended up being my own ignorance. But they didn't make me feel stupid. They are so empathetic and understanding. And most importantly- NO UPSELLING. They are amazing. I have recommended them to my entire family and all my friends. Don't second guess it- Adam and Robert will make sure you are well taken care of!!!

Took a Mercedes here for a repair (which sat there for weeks!!!) and had an “ok” experience… Between managers and owner (Robert and Adam) I got spun around but my car eventually got fixed … While I was there picking it up I made an appointment for my other car… I my other car towed there as discussed and was treated very rudely, unprofessional, and left really insulted as I was sure that realized they made a huge mistake… I won’t get into specific details, but if you have a high-end car like a Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, or Audi I would strongly advise you take your car and your business elsewhere as they do NOT take it seriously here… I’m sure they’re a great place to have an oil change done, but after reading reviews from others seem to struggle with mechanicals…

First off, these guys do seem knowledgeable and honest. My low rating is because I don’t feel as though they did their due diligence in determining the repair(s) my car needed. To be fair, I think this was an oversight and not intentional. However, as I am not a mechanic or BMW expert, I expected and would greatly have appreciated them ruling out the $247 additional repair (replacing worn out spark plugs) that seems to have fixed my car BEFORE I agreed to the initial $3,300 repair (replacing AWD transfer case) that did not fix my car. I appreciate them getting my car back in immediately and covering the additional $247 repair, but I don’t feel like that was enough since it is unknown if my car actually needed the $3,300 repair. Unfortunately, this is why I will not take my car to them again.

I liked Helmut and Vito's at first and brought my Mercedes Benz E550 to them on a couple of fixes, however, last time I drove to them when my car's passenger seat got stuck from one end. At first, they told that the seat wires were ripped off under the seat and new seat buckle was required for it to work. Later, they inspected by removing the car seat and told me that the seat track was damaged, and needed replacement. They revised the quote to $ 2.5K for the entire fix. I drove my car in to another store to get their second opinion and found out that their was no issue with the seat-track or seat buckle at all, however, the seat required installation of new electrical plugs that had come off. The whole fix costed me $250.00 (10 times less). I am very disheartened by the insights and quotes made by them. It seemed like they tried to rip me off. I am hoping that they have not ripped me off with all the money that I already spent with them so far.

Recently moved to the area and so glad I found Helmut & Vito's! I have a 2015 A4 with low mileage (25K) that has undergone regular maintenance. Dealer quoted me just shy of $5K for a bunch of stuff that it "needed", then when I pressed them it turns out a lot of it was just "recommended". In any case, I emailed H&Vs and Adam got back to me right away via email and even booked the appointment based on my availability that I included in my original email. Everything was smooth, and every person I interacted with was friendly, professional, and NOT overbearing. I was able to drop my car during off-hours using their drop box, received a quote next day within 2 hours of the place opening, approved it, AND it was done by the end of the day for less than 1/5(!) the price of dealer quote. Amazing. Super friendly staff on pickup, no BS and no pressure to do things that were not required. They made recommendations for things to keep an eye on in the future, and I appreciate that.

After seeing all positive reviews, I took a chance at this place back in the winter, needing rear shocks and springs on my old 2000 323 BMW. I have to admit, everything worked out great. My car was completed in one day, and they did all the work for a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again. Thank you!

Great place the employees are very helpful and do a great job I had an old Audi A4 2003 and it was always going to the shop for work and they kept it going for years. I now have an 2009 Honda Fit and they have done some work on it simple stuff and it runs great. I have a relative that has gone there for years as well this relative talks highly of this place as well. I was going there when lived in IL and now that I am back in IN I still drive to IL to get work done and check ups on my car. They do work on foreign vehicles as well. Defiantly recommend

Very honest and helpful. Recently I had a warning light come on in my car, they got me in right away, gave me the diagnosis for my car and the gave me an honest answer and guided me to the right decision. They didn't make me feel pressured to use their services which I found very at ease. I have used them several times and their prices were much better than having to go to the dealership for a simple fix.
This team of professionals know their work. They have have helped Cars of Hope perform extensive repairs by getting many vehicles ready to give to Deserving Families over the last three years.
